3DS may allow game installs

Written by pikaby

It's a rumor, but an interesting one, reported by business daily Nikkei, which states that the NIntendo 3DS will allow games to be installed onto its hard drive from the cartridge, so gamers can take multiple games on the go without needing to swap cartridges.

What this basically means is that, stuff Pokemon HeartGold into a 3DS, and after the installation, you can take the cartridge out and the 3DS will run the game off its own internal memory. The cart isn't needed anymore. Even save files are managed through the console itself.

I smell lots of exploitation opportunities *looks at gaming pirates*
