Mario Hanafuda Cards

Written by pikaby

We're at 1889 again, with Nintendo making hanafuda cards all over. And yet we're also at 1985, 1995 and 2005.
This set, together with the two below it, are premium sets of poker cards made by Nintendo. All Mario-themed, and all representing the evolution of Mario from the 8-bit times, to 32-bit, to the current 3D Wii games. Man they're deep.

Oddly enough they aren't Club Nintendo swag as I expected them to be. They're sold freely for 1050 yen a pack. Not a bad deal, even if you're averse to poker.

    1. Agreed. Those are clearly...western playing cards.
